Laura Masotto will give a free concert on Wednesday, August 12, at Katechaki Square.
Laura Masotto is a violinist and composer who blends the depth of classical strings with refinedelectronic experimentation. A graduate of the Conservatory of Verona, by the age of fifteen, she was moving between chamber music and post-rock bands.
Her music emerges from the meeting point between classical string training and sonic experimentation, incorporating analog pedals, synthesizers, Tibetan bells, sitar, and shamanic drum to create a personal and essential musical language. She has released 4 full length albums and is currently working on her new album Notturno, scheduled for release in 2026.
She has gotten international acclaim and been reviewed by among others, The Wire and Electronic Sound and have been touring across the Europe with concerts at venues such as Silent Green in Berlin and Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht, as well as appearances at festivals including Eurosonic, Haldern Pop, Ypsigrock, Andersen and Hemmersdorf.
Masotto’s music has gained international recognition and her work has been featured in contexts as fashion shows as well as the Emmy Award–winning Netflix series Baby Reindeer. She has composed music for dance, film, and fashion and is for example, currently working on the original score for “Taboo. Egon Schiele”, the director’s new documentary, produced by NEXO Studios and released in April 2026.
