


On Thursday, August 13, at the Grand Arsenal Hall, Christos Papageorgiou will present a Free Workshop on "Music from Bach to Max Richter" at 12 noon and a concert with his piano work at 9 pm.
Christos Papageorgiou is an internationally renowned composer, pianist, conductor, radio and television producer and educator. He has appeared as a pianist and composer in leading venues and festivals worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New York, Berlin Philharmonie, Barbican Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, as well as the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls. He has collaborated with major orchestras such as the London Philharmonia, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra and the ERT Symphony Orchestra, and has conducted ensembles in Greece and abroad.
In 2023, his musical about Callas and Onassis was presented with great success by the Varna State Opera, while his works have been presented internationally and have been distinguished with important awards, such as the 1st Composition Prize "2 Agosto" in Bologna. In 2013, he was declared Artist in Residence of the Aegean International Festival and in the same year his composition "Pyrrhicius" was presented by important orchestras in Europe and America.
At the same time, he has developed a strong presence in the media and cultural administration. Since 2002, he has been creating and presenting music shows for ERT, exceeding a total of 100 television and 600 radio productions. He served as Director of the Third Program of Greek Radio (2014–15) and subsequently as Special Advisor for Cultural Affairs of ERT.
He studied composition, piano, conducting and musicology at institutions such as the Athens Conservatory, the Royal Academy of Music and the University of London, and has taught for many years at the Ionian University and the State School of Dance. Since 2015 he has been Artistic Director of the National Conservatory of Kifissia. Since 2019 he has been represented internationally by MUSICENTRY and his works are published by Donemus Publishers Rotterdam.
